Looking Up

Well, this week has been rather positive. Took a trip to the bank the other day to put money into my Savings rather than take it out, got some freelance work done, and got another offer for Friday... I'll be a PA for RecruiTV.

Still having printer issues at the church. When will this madness end? Hopefully Tuesday, that's when we're supposed to be getting the correct ink.

Tonight my parents are going out for dinner with my aunt and uncle, so I'll have the place to myself for a couple of hours! It'll be nice to get some quiet "me time."

Ready for Iowa

Tomorrow Dan and I are flying to Omaha and then traveling to the Orange Cite area in Iowa to stay with his parents for the next couple of days. I had a nice chat with his mom earlier today. I'm really looking forward to spending time with Dan's family. We don't get to see them very often, so we always try to make the most of our visits when we see them.

Ugh, on another topic... work is rough today! The printer has got some serious issues and we've been trying to troubleshoot all day! Nothing. So, once again, the printer is out of order. Makes work a lot more difficult. Oh well, life goes on one way or another.

Happy Saint Patick's Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day, everyone!

I spent most of the day relaxing, getting organized, and and so on. I even got most of my stuff packed for mine and Dan's trip to Iowa this week. We're visiting his parents over Easter. It has been a while since we've seen them, so it'll be nice to visit with them for a couple of days!

Not too much is going on... so I guess I'll call it quits for now.

Awake 24 Hours... and still working!

To say I am tired would be a massive understatement... yet, here I am, at church... working... and I've been up for over 24 hours! At 3:15 p.m. Eastern/2:15 p.m. Central I will be actually working on the clock for 24 hours! No, no... I won't make it that far, but I will make it to about 22 hours of nonstop work. Yikes! Hey... just like my days of video work at Phantom Ranch before DVDs! Oh, fun times!

Well, this past Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I have been working for Sugar Film Production on a commercial for Tire Rack. It was a great learning experience... also, very demanding! At times my patients were challenged, but in the end (with some helpful guidance from God) everything seemed to work out for the best and I am very grateful for this work opportunity. I organized papers, carried supplies, helped out crew members, and did a lot... a LOT of driving (which was cool because it made those long days go by somewhat fast)! All this took place in South Bend, Indiana. So be on the lookout for a commercial about tirerack.com.

I left the set while some crew were still wrapping up at 5:35 a.m. Eastern/4:35 a.m. Central. I picked up my car at the hotel and left at about 5:50 a.m. Eastern. I was in downtown Chicago by 6:45 a.m. Central. I dropped off the film we shot that day to be developed and then I went straight home... only to drop off my stuff and get ready for work at church. Whew! I knew it was only 7:20 a.m. but I saw no point in sleeping for an hour before I had to get up for work... so I just pressed on and went into work early! I got to church just before 8:00 a.m. (even beating Pastor Scott). I fully intend to leave church early as well... my bed is seriously calling my name! When I do get home I'll probably put in a looong movie and watch about 30 seconds before I fall fast asleep!

This weekend I plan to catch up on some much needed sleep and take the time to relax. My sleep schedule is all messed up from working long, strange hours and from being in a different time zone. Oh well, I'll fix that... no problem! Honestly, it was all worth it.

Busy Week

It's Monday and I'm working at the church because I have some video freelance work this week, so my typical work schedule is off. I'm definitely ok with that... I can really use the work! I must say, it is rather lonely here on a Monday. No one else is here. Oh well, I'm finding ways to keep busy. No worries.

Dan's spring break is over, but I must say, we had a great week! I love it when he's around and I know that my parents enjoy having him around too.

This past week (in no particular order):
-Dan worked full-time.
-We saw Wicked.
-We ate out at Bahama Breeze.
-Had some Cold Stone when it was about 15 degrees outside.
-Stayed in and watched movies.
-Watched the newest episode of Lost.
-Played lots of Wii Sports.
-Dan studied and made lots of note cards for his Monday exam.
-I worked and picked up some new, additional work.

Not much else to report at the moment. Don't be surprised if I don't write much this week. I'm not sure how often I'll get to be on the computer. We'll see.

A New Do for Dan the Man

Dan got a new haircut this afternoon and I think that he looks so awesome... so I thought that I would share it with everyone! Take a look for yourself!

I took the picture with his cell phone.

Not much else going on today. I've been spending a lot of money lately (plus I just got my credit card bill yesterday), so I'm staying in this weekend. No, I take that back... last night Dan and I went out for dinner, but tonight we're staying in. Dan is studying and I'm working on random stuff. Not very exciting, I know. Oh well. TTFN!

TGIF

Not much usually happens on Fridays, but today is not a typical Friday. I don't work at the church on Fridays so I usually find ways to keep busy around the house or run errands. Anyway, this afternoon I was scanning some old negatives into my computer when I got a phone call from a producer I work for from time to time. Good news! She had some work for me! Well, actually she has a fellow producer who could use my help. I accepted and called her up right away. Long story short, I've rearranged my schedule at the church so I could work for this production company Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Not too sure what the whole project is... all I know is that it's some sort of commercial. Yay! A full week of work... I need it!

In other news, Dan is coming to an end of his spring break... so I thought that I would take him out for dinner. I'll be taking him to Bahama Breeze tonight! A fun place that serves Caribbean cuisine and is supposed to make you feel like you're on vacation. Very fitting, since Dan is supposed to be on his spring break. He has been working so hard all week and studying, he deserves a break! Should be fun! We've eaten there before... it's a good time.

One of those days...

We all have those days when nothing seems to be going right. Well, I am having one of those days today. I'm currently sitting at my desk at work trying to get everything set for Sunday but nothing is working as it should.

- The bulletin graphics were coming up with a dark overlay (but certainly didn't look like that the last time I saved it).
- No e-mail account would let me e-mail Will his PowerPoint presentation so he can approve it.
- I cannot open all attached files in my work e-mail.
- The printer keeps jamming.
- My desk is falling apart where I type so I have my knee resting underneath to help keep together.

Blah, today is not one of the smoothest running days I've ever had... but at the same time I know I've had worse. Oh well, I seem to be troubleshooting many of these unpredictable challenges so I really can't complain.

Obladi oblada... life goes on!

Something New

Well, I felt like it was time for a change... so I decided to change my blog (sorry Xanga). Hopefully I'll be better at updating this blog then my old one. We'll see... yell at me if I don't.

Well, let's get this show on the road! Ah, what a fine way to begin my first story. Last night Dan and I saw Wicked at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago! It was absolutely brilliant! The music, the cast, the set design, the effects, the energy... easily one of the finest nights of theatre I have experienced in years! I highly recommend it. Like I told my mom last night, everyone speaks very highly of Wicked and I was expecting great things, yet I was still blown away!
